๐Ÿš€ Overview

What CNG Hub is, and how to start in 3 steps.

CNG Hub is the global app for drivers who run on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). It brings every CNG station together on a single map, with prices reported and confirmed by the driver community โ€” so you know where to fill up cheaper before you leave.

1๏ธโƒฃ
Install it and sign in
2๏ธโƒฃ
Activate your country in the Store
3๏ธโƒฃ
See stations and prices near you
๐Ÿ’ก Tip: let the app work in the background. When you pass by a registered station it detects your visit automatically and offers to confirm the fill-up โ€” keeping your points and everyone's prices up to date.

๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ The map and the pins

How to read the map at a glance.

Each pin is a station. Inside the circle you see the brand logo, and above it the white bubble with the price. The body colour and the shoulder badges tell you the rest without opening anything:

๐ŸŽจ Pin colours are configurable in the app (Settings โ†’ colours). The ones shown here are the defaults.

๐Ÿท๏ธ Station labels

Tap a pin and the bottom bar shows what the station offers:

Fast fillFast fill โ€” high-flow compressor, fills quickly.
Heavy vehiclesHeavy vehicles โ€” access and clearance for trucks and buses.
CNG PipeCNG Pipe โ€” refuelling straight from the pipeline.
LNGLNG โ€” liquefied natural gas, for heavy fleets.
CreditDebitCredit / Debit โ€” payment methods accepted.

The price colour / opacity shows how fresh it is: the more recent the last update, the more prominent. Stations with no activity for a long time lose the highlight (see the FAQ "my station disappeared").

Tap ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ (map corner) to toggle station visibility.

๐Ÿ” Finding a station

Three ways to get where you want.

Nearby station search
Search by name, city or neighbourhood
  • Nearby stations โ€” the list opens already sorted by your location, with the price and how long ago it was updated.
  • Search โ€” type a name, city or neighbourhood to jump straight to the station.
  • Favourites โ€” star the ones you use most and find them in one tap.

The ๐Ÿ” icon in the top bar of the map.

๐Ÿ“Œ Example: heading to another city? Search for "Bogotรก" and see the stations and prices there in advance, even from far away.

๐Ÿ“ The station screen

What each button does โ€” and where it is.

Tapping a station opens the panel with the CNG price, the Operating status, Prices and hours, and the station labels (CNG type, cards, heavy vehicles). Just below, the action bar:

  • ๐Ÿงญ Navigate โ€” opens the route in your navigation app (Waze / Google Maps, as you prefer).
  • โœ๏ธ Edit โ€” correct the details and update the price and opening hours.
  • โš ๏ธ Report โ€” flag that it has closed (temporarily or for good).
  • โญ Favourite โ€” save the station.
  • ๐Ÿ’ฌ Review โ€” rate it and leave a comment.

Tap any pin on the map or any search result.

๐Ÿ›ฃ๏ธ Routes (multi-stop)

Plan the trip and fill up on the right leg.

Route with alternatives
Up to 3 route alternatives with distances

Plan a route and the app draws up to 3 alternatives (with distances), highlighting the CNG stations along the way. But the most powerful feature is the multi-stop route โ€” planning a trip through several stations at once.

๐Ÿงญ Using multi-stop routes โ€” step by step

  1. Enter multi-stop mode: long-press the final destination on the map. The route is drawn and the app switches to multi-stop mode.
  2. Add and remove stops: with the mode active, a single tap on a station adds it to the route; tapping it again removes it.
  3. See the leg distances: they appear as coloured labels just above the multi-stop buttons, in the bottom-left corner โ€” each colour matches a leg of the trip.
  4. Save the route: tap ๐Ÿ’พ (save) in the bottom-left corner to store the route and reuse it later.
  5. Leave multi-stop mode: tap โœ• (next to save) to go back to a simple route.
โ„น๏ธ Navigation itself opens in your preferred app (Waze / Maps) โ€” and the route drawn on the map is independent of the external navigator (you choose that in Settings). Ordinary navigation apps don't follow several stops at once: for the whole trip use Google Maps, or go stop by stop.

๐Ÿค How to contribute (Public Trust)

The app is built by the community. Every contribution helps another driver โ€” and earns points.

  • Confirm / update the price โ€” keeps the value fresh for everyone.
  • Review the station โ€” rating and comments on pressure, service, queue.
  • Add a new station โ€” one that isn't on the map yet.
  • Report โ€” a station that has closed (temporarily or for good), or reopened.

๐Ÿ“ The presence rule โ€” two doors

To earn points and carry public trust, some actions require that you really were at the station. But you don't have to be there right now: opening one of the two doors is enough.

1๏ธโƒฃ
You're at the station now
(within the radius)
2๏ธโƒฃ
You passed by recently
(within the window)

Door 2 is the one most people don't know about โ€” and the most useful. The app records your visit on its own when you arrive, stay or leave a station, and also when you drive past it. After that you have the whole window to update the price calmly, at home or at work: I saw the sign as I drove by, I'll update it now.

100 m
Presence radius
6 h
Window after passing by
5000 m
Max. distance to add a station
โš ๏ธ If you see "You are not at the station" with the button locked, it means neither door opened: you are far away and the app recorded no visit of yours there within the window. Pass by the station (or get close) and the action unlocks by itself.
๐Ÿ”‹ For the app to record your visit with the screen off, it needs the background location permission. Without it the app still works normally โ€” map, search, routes and prices โ€” but automatic visit detection and the "Did you fill up?" prompt won't happen.
Report a problem at the station
Report: closed temporarily or for good

Price/hours: Station โ†’ โœ๏ธ Edit. Report: Station โ†’ โš ๏ธ Report. New station: the โž• button on the map bar.

A new station joins the map after 5 approvals from the community โ€” collective curation against duplicates and pranks.

๐Ÿ”„ Closed, reopened, and the red X

Stations open, close and come back. On the map, the community decides that โ€” and you are part of it.

When you arrive at a station and there is no CNG, that information is gold for whoever comes next. That's why the app lets you report it โ€” and why a report doesn't close the station on its own: it opens a vote.

๐Ÿšฆ The two kinds of closure

Pin with a red X
No CNG right now
Out of gas, compressor down, queue at a standstill. The station stays on the map, with the red X.
Faded pin
Closed for good
Shut down, turned into something else, demolished. The station leaves the map.
๐Ÿค” When in doubt, choose "no CNG right now". It is reversible and it is the common case. Permanent closure is for the station that really isn't coming back โ€” and if enough people disagree with you, the report is rejected.

๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ What happens after you report

  1. A campaign opens. The station starts showing the report to everyone who arrives, along with the comments from those who voted.
  2. Other drivers vote. Whoever is at the station can agree ("there really isn't any") or disagree ("it's working fine").
  3. The community decides. Once consensus is reached the campaign closes and the station changes state โ€” or goes back to normal, if most people disagreed.
  4. XP is paid at the outcome. Whoever voted with the winning side gets the points when the campaign closes, not at the moment of the vote. That's why the Logbook shows the entry as "under vote" before it turns into points.
โ†ฉ๏ธ Changed your mind? You can undo your vote while the campaign is open. The entry stays in your Logbook as "undo vote", and you can vote in that campaign again.

๐Ÿ’š "It's working again" โ€” bringing a station back

A station marked as no CNG isn't stuck that way. When it starts working again there are two paths โ€” and both depend on people who were there:

  • The "It's working again" button โ€” on the closed station screen, whoever is there confirms they filled up normally.
  • By filling up โ€” confirming a fill-up at a station marked as closed already counts as a vote that it is open. You don't have to do anything beyond what you'd do anyway.
๐Ÿงญ Coming back requires confirmation from different drivers โ€” one person alone neither reopens nor closes a station. It is the same rule on both sides, and it's what stops both pranks and honest mistakes from becoming the truth.

โฌ†๏ธ Escalating to a permanent closure

If a station has been marked no CNG for a while and you saw on site that it has shut down for good, you can escalate the report under "More options" on the station screen. It is the most serious action in the app: it ends the current vote and opens a new one for permanent closure. That is why it also requires you to be at the station.

โš ๏ธ Reporting a station that is working โ€” or pushing a closure the community rejected โ€” affects your Trust. It isn't a punishment for an honest mistake: it's what keeps the map reliable for everyone.

๐Ÿ† Points & Levels

Every contribution becomes XP. Add up points, level up and earn badges.

Logbook with XP
Logbook โ€” your XP history

Follow everything in the Logbook: each action appears with the XP it earned, plus the confirmed total for the month.

Reading your Logbook: each card shows the type of action (fill-up, price, report, voteโ€ฆ), when and at which station. When the action is part of an ongoing vote, the card says "under vote" โ€” and shows the result as soon as the community decides. A fill-up that also counted as a vote appears as a single card: one action of yours, one entry.

What each action is worth

Confirm a fill-up, from far away+5
Update the price โ€” confirmed fill-up, near the station+15

๐Ÿ“ Near or far? "Near" means being verifiably within 1000 m of the station when you update. Beyond that, the update counts as the "far" tier. The Logbook shows, for each update, how much it earned and why.
๐Ÿ”’ Fair anti-spam: only up to 1 update per station every 24h counts for XP (and 3 in 7 days), with a cap of 10 price confirmations/updates per day in total (across all stations). Beyond that the information is still recorded โ€” it just doesn't earn points.
โ„น๏ธ Dynamic values: the points for each action are set dynamically and can be adjusted at any time, based on balance and community performance โ€” they are not fixed or absolute. This page always shows the values currently in force.

๐Ÿฅ‡ Monthly ranking & Rewards

The most active drivers of the month get real perks.

Every month there is an engagement ranking per country. Those who contribute the most can receive free extensions on the premium plan โ€” our way of thanking whoever keeps the map alive.

  • Your position appears on the Monthly Ranking screen.
  • What counts is the XP earned in the current month.
  • To compete for the rewards you need an active CNG Hub plan (a current store subscription).
โ„น๏ธ You appear in the ranking by your XP even without a plan โ€” but only a current subscription takes an award-eligible slot.

โš–๏ธ Tie-breaker

If two drivers finish the month with the same XP, the order follows a fixed, public and verifiable rule:

  1. More XP in the month wins.
  2. Tied on XP โ†’ whoever reached that score first wins (by the date/time of the last action that added points in the month).
  3. Exact tie (same instant) โ†’ an internal identifier guarantees a unique and deterministic order, so it is never ambiguous.
๐Ÿ“Œ The same rule applies to the list shown, to your position and to the distribution of rewards โ€” no exceptions. That keeps the awards fair and auditable.

๐ŸŒŽ Passports, Countries & Offline

Access wherever you drive โ€” with or without a signal.

Passport store
Store: Global and per-country Explorer
  • ๐ŸŒ Global Pass โ€” access to every country.
  • ๐Ÿงญ Explorer โ€” access to the country you choose.
  • ๐Ÿ“ด Offline-first โ€” the data is stored on your device; with no signal on the road, the map keeps working.
  • Manage your subscription โ€” cancelling or switching plans is done in the store itself (App Store / Google Play), from the Store screen.
๐Ÿงฉ Each country card shows how many stations exist there, plus a button to show/hide them on the map.

โš–๏ธ How the community decides

Public trust in action โ€” fairly and transparently.

Decisions about a station (is it open? did it close? is the price real?) come from the community consensus, not from one person:

  • Several drivers confirming the same price โ†’ the value gains confidence.
  • Closure reports pile up โ†’ the station is flagged.
  • If it starts receiving fill-ups again, a station marked as closed comes back to life automatically.
๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ To protect the map against pranks and manipulation, CNG Hub has internal safety and reputation mechanisms working behind the scenes. They are discreet on purpose โ€” but the rule for an honest driver is simple: tell the truth, be at the station, and everything counts in your favour.

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Trust

Beyond XP (which only goes up), every driver has a Trust score โ€” how much the community can rely on what you report. It starts full and it is not a competition scoreboard: almost nobody needs to think about it.

  • It rises on its own as you contribute information that gets confirmed.
  • It falls when you report something the community rejects โ€” for example, reporting a working station as closed.
  • It recovers with time and with correct contributions. It is not permanent.
๐Ÿ’š An honest mistake is not a problem. You arrived, the compressor was down, you reported it, and half an hour later it was working again โ€” that happens and the system understands. What it doesn't accept is a repeated pattern of information that doesn't match reality.

๐Ÿ‘‰ The full walkthrough of reporting, voting and reopening is in Closed & reopened.

๐Ÿ‘ค Profile, Devices & Privacy

Your account, under your control.

  • Profile โ€” name, avatar, level and XP.
  • Devices โ€” see the devices connected to your account. Each phone is tied to one account: that's what stops anyone from creating several accounts on the same device to inflate points. Changed phones? The new device takes over normally.
  • 13 languages โ€” the app adapts automatically to your phone's language.
  • Delete account โ€” available inside the app, at any time.

โ“ Frequently asked questions

The questions that come up most โ€” answered straight.

I updated the price and got no XP. Why?
Two common causes: (1) you were outside the presence radius (100 m) of the station โ€” updates from a distance help the community but don't score; or (2) you had already hit the daily limit of 1 scoring update at that station. The information was recorded either way.
My favourite station disappeared from the map (or shows "no price").
The map highlights stations with recent information. If a station goes a long time without any price confirmation or fill-up, it loses its "fresh" highlight. One driver passing by and confirming the price brings it back โ€” which is why your contribution matters so much. ๐Ÿ™Œ
I set Waze, but Google Maps opens (or the other way round).
Check the preferred navigator in the app settings. The route drawn inside CNG Hub is independent of the external navigator that guides you to the station โ€” they are configured separately.
"You are not at the station" appeared and the button was locked.
Neither presence door opened: you are outside the 100 m radius and the app recorded no visit of yours there in the last 6 h. Get close to the station (or drive past it) and the action unlocks by itself. If you were at the station and the warning still shows, check that the background location permission is granted โ€” without it the app can't record the visit with the screen off.
I reported a station with no CNG, but it's still on the map. Is that wrong?
No โ€” that's the correct behaviour. A "no CNG right now" report doesn't delete the station: it marks it with a red X and opens a vote. The station stays visible precisely so other drivers find the report and confirm it (or disagree). Only a permanent closure, once approved by the community, removes the station from the map.
I voted in a campaign and got no XP right away.
Vote XP is paid at the outcome of the campaign, to whoever voted with the winning side. While the vote is open, the card in your Logbook shows as "under vote". When the community decides, it updates itself and the points come in.
The station is working again. How do I remove the red X?
While at the station, use the "It's working again" button on its screen. Confirming a fill-up there also counts as a vote that it is open โ€” you don't need to do both. Reopening requires confirmation from different drivers, so it may take a little while for the X to clear for everyone.
I added a station and it shows up grey, with no price.
Grey pin of a station awaiting approvalA newly added station comes in as "awaiting approval" โ€” a grey pin โ€” until it receives 5 confirmations from the community. That is the collective curation against duplicates and wrong entries. Tap the station to see its details and price; once approved, the pin becomes normal.
Does the app have to be open to detect that I filled up?
No. Detection works with the app closed, as long as the background location permission is granted โ€” that's what lets the app notice you arrived at, stayed in and left a station. Without that permission nothing breaks: you keep using the map, search, routes and prices normally, and you can record everything by hand.
How do I compete for the monthly ranking rewards?
Contribute through the month (prices, reports, reviews, new stations) to add up XP, and keep an active CNG Hub plan subscribed through the store. Only current subscriptions take an award-eligible slot โ€” but everyone appears in the ranking by XP.
I can't access the stations in my country.
Open the Store (passport shop) and tap your country to activate it. If you have an active plan and still see a block, use "Restore purchases" on the plans screen or contact support.
Do I have to pay to use CNG Hub?
You explore and contribute normally; unlocked access to the stations of a country (or global) comes from a passport/subscription bought in the Store. Legacy GNV Brasil drivers keep their benefits.
